A native of Sarajevo, in her works Maja Bajevic turns to the problems of a recent national history which for many became a tragedy
on a global scale. She is interested both by the general fate of mankind and the phenomena of the 'schism' – ethnical, religious
and historical. In the sound installation 'Onwards, people!' the viewer, approaching the stereo systems, makes one of thirty songs
sound out. The national hymns of various countries, sounding in one space, create an intensely aggressive environment that is
politicized to the point of absurdity.
