Fulya Erdemci
After working as the Director of the International Istanbul Biennial from 1994 to 2000, Erdemci began to work as an independent curator and critic. She has curated exhibitions including İskorpit, Berlin / Karlsruhe, 1998 (co-curated with Rene Block), Regrets, Reveries, Changing Skies Istanbul, 2001, Istanbul Pedestrian Exhibitions I: Personal Geographies and Global Maps, Istanbul, 2002, Between the Waterfronts, Rotterdam , 2002 (co-curated with Ron Mandos), the 25th São Paulo Biennial, Citades/Cities, Istanbul section, Sao Paulo, 2002, Where?/Here?, Saitama, 2003 (co-curated with Emre Baykal, Vasıf Kortun and Yuji Maeyama) and Organized Conflict, Istanbul, 2003 and Making of Istanbul Modern Istanbul, 2004. Together with Emre Baykal and Arzu Yayıntaş, she curated Istanbul Pedestrian Exhibitions 2: Tunel Karakoy, 2005. She currently works as a freelance curator for the inaugural exhibition of Santral Istanbul which opens in November 2006.
Erdemci taught at Bilkent University in Ankara from 1994 95, Marmara University in Istanbul from 1998 and has been teaching part-time for the graduate program at the Visual Communication Design Department, Istanbul Bilgi University since 2000.
