Biljana Djurjevic belongs to the generation of young artists who call for a return to traditional techniques. Canvas/oil, large format, figures. Biljana Djurjevic’s paintings, conservative in form, are surprisingly contemporary in their contents: children with a silent question in their eyes which have become paralyzed in eternal waiting. Violence, suffering, loneliness, the realization of one’s own worthlessness- all of these problems of contemporary society are embodied in their still silence.
