Proportionality, simultaneously on a local and global scale, is precisely what Elena Nemkova is striving for. Her works are the result of a focused examination of the processes of life’s changes, both on a global plan and in trivialities. A typical example of this can be seen in her sculpture object ‘Unbelievable efforts to overcome the theory of catastrophes’ which is interesting due to unexpected and dramatic changes under the influence of, for example, an unexpected change in social behavior and geopolitics, linked with changes in landscape or the environment.
