The search for the surprising and the inimitable in the everyday, scientific processes as a part of the artist's experiment art
repeatedly turned to these themes in the last century. In Karsten Nicolai's installations the viewer falls into a laboratory space
where snow-flakes are being processed. The complex apparatus, the toolkit of chemical experiments, the quiet music and the
carefully directed light create a bewitching, almost sacral space of the 'creation' of the microelements of the visible world.
