Daniel Pflumm removes logotypes and advertisements from their primary context, dismantles them into their structural elements and then arranges them again but in a different form. The artist’s method of work is close to that used in advertisements but the result turns out to be the polar opposite. Pflumm answers to society’s elevated interest in labels by depriving the sign of a semantic filling. The viewer is presented with an ‘empty’ visual form. The artist shows the absurdity of the replacement of mankind’s desires and aspirations with advertisement slogans.
