A likeness of 'the icon of modernism' is placed on a podium as if on an operation table under the merciless glow of a surgical lamp.
On the canvas there are traces of man's intrusion: washed away layers, paints under which were the outlines of a female figure.
The artistic laconism of Salakhova's new work conceals many meanings. The restoration process is a hope to acquire that which
has been lost and simultaneously a destruction of the latest stratifications.
