Yuri Albert. Exhibition

project description
Yuri Albert has decided to exhibit a description of various unrealised installations and performances alongside a film about Diderot’s ‘Salons’ due to the paradoxical parallel of today’s situation and the period at the end of the 1970s and the start of the 1980s. Yuri is of the opinion that there are so few works around from that period because “there was no point in making them, there was nowhere to make them or store them, while the idea that somebody would want to buy them seemed completely absurd. You could at most call up all the people who were interested and tell them what a wonderful work you had made. Now works are not realised not necessarily because somebody dislikes them, but because most of the proposals cannot be realised in a studio: they are meaningful only as parts of a larger project or in a museum space”.
